Five gunmen tied up and robbed Kim Kardashian during a brazen Paris heist early Monday, stealing jewelry worth more than $10 million dollars from a private residence, police said.
The gunmen reportedly handcuffed a concierge during an early morning heist at a private residence near the Madeleine church.
He was forced, also at gunpoint, to lead the suspects to Kardashian’s room, according to police officials who were not authorized to speak on the record.
Kardashian was overseas for Paris Fashion Week and attended the Givenchy show with her mother, Kris Jenner, and a dinner organized by Tunisian-born couturier Azzedine Alaia hours before the robbery, according to RTL France.
The suspects burst into the fashionista’s room and allegedly tied her up in the bathroom before pilfering her possessions.
The five men escaped on bikes and are at large, the officials said.
A jewelry box containing valuables worth about $6.7 million and a ring worth about $4.4 million were taken from Kardashian’s room.
Her children, North and Saint, were not on the scene during the robbery, which occurred around 3 a.m.
Nobody was hurt in the incident, a source told the Daily News.
“She is badly shaken but physically unharmed,”
two assailants disguised as cops were behind the holdup.
Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo condemned the robbery and said the Kardashians are
“always welcome in Paris.”
“I have every confidence in the police force,”
Hidalgo said in a statement, adding that the perpetrators would be identified and apprehended.
Such a crime is “rare” in a private space in Paris, Hidalgo added.
Following the robbery, her rapper husband, Kanye West, bolted from a sold-out concert he was headlining in Queens citing a “family emergency.”
Witnesses said the “Famous” artist was abruptly pulled aside by an assistant while performing his 2008 hit “Heartless.”
He then stopped the music, dropped the microphone and ran off stage during the Meadows Festival.
“I’m sorry. Family emergency. I have to stop the show,”
West said. The disappointed fans, who dropped anywhere from $140 to $260 to attend the Meadows Festival, were then forced to leave early.
“Dude just ran on stage and grabbed Kanye and he said, ‘Sorry guys, family emergency I have to leave the show’ and just ran off the stage,”
Some concertgoers expressed suspicion, though, that the drama was another publicity stunt.
Meadows Festival officials tweeted that West had to end his performance early, also citing a family emergency, and told concertgoers to
“please get home safely.”
