In 2015, Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda (real name Ackquille Jean Pollard) was caught trying to smuggle a “sharp metal object” into Rikers Island.

On Friday, Judge Marc Whitten sentenced Shmurda to 1 1/3 to four years in prison for promoting prison contraband.

Shmurda is already serving seven years in prison for his involvement in a gang conspiracy.

The two sentences will run concurrently.

In the contraband case, prosecutors say a correction officer saw Rikers Island visitor Kimberly Rousseau reach inside her bra and pass a white latex balloon wrapped in black electrical tape containing the blade to Shmurda on June 21, 2015, officials said.

He pleaded guilty in February.

His lawyer Paul insisted to reporters Shmurda didn’t know Rousseau, claiming she was an obsessed fan and that he ended her visit after 15 seconds.

“The fact that this was non-violent is more important to Mr. Pollard than anything else,”

London said.

“Sometimes when you play with dogs, you wake up with fleas.

Some of the stank rubbed off on him.”

Wearing a white shirt and khaki pants with his hands covered in protective mitts, Shmurda said nothing before his sentencing.

“No sir,”

he muttered to the judge when asked if he had anything to say.

“They want to see their freedom again.

Right now it’s very frustrating.”

Rousseau was arrested for promoting contraband and pleaded out.

She was granted no jail time as long as she didn’t re-offend.

Shmurda’s mother Leslie Pollard insisted that her son, who is working on a new album from prison, never actually possessed the blade.

“He said he actually didn’t have a weapon on him,”

he said.

“The weapon was not found on my son. It was found on the floor.”
